Victoria Liu

My interest in coaching began when I experienced for myself how powerful it was in accelerating my growth, learning and development. It allowed me to understand how certain mindsets and limiting beliefs were holding me back from taking charge.

I became fascinated by various high performance and positive psychology tools that I mastered and put into practice

Over time, this interest has evolved into a passion for mentoring other leaders so that they can reach a greater level of awareness as to how they operate, think, and facilitate their own breakthroughs.

Background

Originally from New Zealand with a Hong Kong Chinese migrant background, I have since worked my way to the top of the UK investment banking industry. Through my professional career I have worked with some of the best-known household brands in financial services, as a change facilitator, people leader and thought provoker, and as a mentor and coach for both established colleagues, and talented new joiners.

I became one of the youngest Senior Directors in a global investment bank and have throughout my 20+ year career, consulted for over 20 companies across multiple industries, primarily the Financial Services sector (Investment Banking, Asset Management and Insurance), as well as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, Data Provider, Market Research, and Government Justice Services, including former Chief of Staff and Deputy COO, leading global teams of over 700 staff

I learnt to adapt and use my resilience in stressful and challenging environments, developing an expertise in effective and efficient problem solving across Finance, People Development, Sales and Marketing, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Vendor Management.  I have led multi-location teams through multi-year transformation programme on Compliance,  Risk Management, Treasury, and Research at Tier 1 Investment Banks, advising C-level executives across regions.

The Coronavirus pandemic has led me to take stock and focus on what is important in my life.  This has made me realise that I want to add value to society by applying my experience, skills and knowledge as a coach and mentor.  So far, I have delivered over 2500 hours of coaching and have achieved Master Coach level accreditation with Cambridge University.  This paired with my deep passion to enable others to succeed, means I now offer my coaching services full time, and primarily to middle management professionals with diverse employment backgrounds who seek to take the next step towards unlocking their full potentials.

As a coach who practices what she preaches, I am passionate about my own development.  I receive regular supervision and am also fully accredited globally as Master Executive Coach of The Association of Coaching (AC), European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and International Coach Federation (ICF).  I maintain a high level of Continuous Professional Development with Mastermind groups such as Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), Institute of Coaching (Harvard Medical School), Meyler Campbell and World Business & Executive Coach Summit (WBECS)

Not for Profit Mentoring and Coaching

In addition to these memberships, I am also an Ethical Coach supporting a selected group of NGO leaders within Women Innovators and Leadership Development (WILD) Network with Coaching.com (formally known as WBECS) and a non-profit board advisor with Pilotlight.
